Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, database administrators, and application developers, to integrate and support IBM iSeries systems

Analyze and troubleshoot complex system issues on the IBM iSeries platform, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions

Participate in the planning, design, and implementation of system upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery strategies on the IBM iSeries platform

Document system configurations, technical specifications, and procedures for the IBM iSeries environment

Application Change assessment and validation during change windows over the week and weekend

Monitors operations to ensure adherence to service level standards and company/department policies and procedures

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience

5+ years of experience working with IBM - knows IBM 'in and out'

Knowledge of storage arrays, IBMi stacks, tape libraries, how they interconnect

Experience with complex administration tasks - very good understanding of iseries infrastructure and how to implement new systems

Has to have rolled out numerous systems in their experience

Data center relocation experience is helpful

Knowledge on network and application designs

Exposure to creating cabling diagrams

Attention to detail

Excellent communicator - ability to discuss technical solutions to internal and external parties and adapt depending on the technical or business focus of the discussion

Organized approach - manage and adapt priorities according to client and internal requirements

Self-starter but team mindset - work autonomously and as part of a global team

Must be online by 10am EST no matter where they sit - the client is flexible with time zones

Some weekend hours may be required, would be early in the morning, no evenings
