Responsibilities
Research operational requirements for USAF tactical combat systems information exchange requirements (IERs), consider USAF platform implementations and capabilities, and engineer changes to TDL MIL STDs
Review IERs for platforms) to verify the correct MIL STD references, and to validate that existing message structures support required IERs.
Coordinate with USAF requirements and program offices to provide technical TDL expertise to facilitate TDL integration into USAF platforms and systems.
Advise USAF system program office software developers, and test personnel on TDL transactional formatting, as well as bit level formatting, and functional implementations as described in the appropriate MIL STD.
Develop and evaluate previously developed, bit-level implementation specifications for USAF platforms and systems.
Provide technical support at program Technical Interchange Meetings and Design Reviews concerning TDL implementations.
Attend Joint, Bilateral and Allied TDL meetings, working groups, and subgroups, as directed by the Government, to represent USAF TDL objectives and to ensure that USAF interests and equities are accurately represented
Review technical change proposals from other services and allied nations to determine impact to USAF platforms/systems, and provide written evaluations.
Analyze interoperability test trouble reports to determine impact to system under test, and to other platforms, to evaluate the criticality.
Review new draft versions of MIL STDs and be able to find incorporation errors and provide correct bit formatting, verbiage, or notations to achieve intended interoperability objectives.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
Rated Fighter pilot or Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO)/Weapons System Officer (WSO)
At least five (5) years fighter/EWO/WSO experience with exposure to USAF Doctrine
Tactical Data Link operational experience within the past 5 years
Current Required Security Clearance: Top Secret with SCI eligibility and NATO Secret
Preferred
Ability to read through highly detailed and complex technical documents to extract relevant information
