Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for tax-related matters. Provide strategic advice on tax planning, compliance, and other complex tax issues.
Tax Compliance & Reporting: Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and international tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals. Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and filing deadlines.
Tax Planning & Strategy: Develop and implement effective tax strategies for clients, including M&A, cross-border tax planning, and tax-efficient structures. Provide advice on business operations and restructuring.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to foster their growth and development. Review staff work and ensure quality control.
Audit Support: Assist clients with IRS and state tax audits, provide audit defense strategies, and work closely with internal teams to resolve audit issues.
Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing client relationships and actively participate in new business proposals. Represent the firm at networking events, industry conferences, and client meetings.
Tax Research: Stay current on federal, state, and international tax law changes, and provide technical guidance to clients and the team.
Firm Growth & Strategy: Contribute to the strategic direction of the firm’s tax practice, including the development of new service offerings and expansion of client services.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in tax within public accounting, including substantial experience with corporate tax, individual tax, and international tax matters
At least 5 years in a leadership or management role
Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax laws
Proven ability to manage and develop a team of tax professionals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Track record of identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities
Preferred
Master’s degree in Taxation or an MBA
Other certifications such as Enrolled Agent (EA)
Experience with M&A, tax planning, tax compliance, and audit defense
