Responsibilities

Regularly revise and update the content of all course-related workbooks, student guides, and learning material to ensure all content is stylistically consistent according to a style guide.

Plan, schedule, and coordinate the production of publications and other printed or digital materials.

Manage printing of binders, student guides, instructional materials, tests, quizzes, etc.

Plan and expedite instructional binders and CD production schedules.

Collaborate with staff to produce audio-visual teaching material or PowerPoint presentations.

Review publication needs and report weekly the status of publications' progress.

Control publications workflow and routing documents and articles through scheduling, writing, editing, design, and distribution.

Ensure timely availability of curriculum materials through the appropriate online platform.

Estimate costs for services and obtaining approvals for expenditures.

Monitor the binder and textbook inventory budget.

Develop plans to centralize the storage and distribution of publications.

Write articles and perform editorial work.

Manage the production of a quarterly Newsletter including soliciting articles and formatting for distribution.

Format the annual recipe collection for distribution.

Develop written procedures and processes for the position responsibilities.

Rouxbe duties and tasks as assigned.

Required

Associate’s degree from an accredited college/university in English, technical communication, journalism, communications, creative writing, or other related field.

Minimum of five (5) years of documented experience in writing technical proposals, manuals, policies, and/or procedures.

Proven ability to review and correct material for content, style, and compliance with internal and external standards.

Strong eye for grammatical, spelling, and other editing errors.

Preferred

Previous government/DOD/military experience.

Based in the Norfolk/Hampton Roads area or Virginia.

Experience with grant writing and requests for proposals.

Experience and expertise or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields.

High proficiency with software such as the Microsoft Office suite, and efficiency tools.

Demonstrated proofreading and desktop publishing skills.

Familiarity with copyright laws and compliance to follow US guidelines for handling Controlled Unclassified Information.
