Responsibilities

Writes/edits reports, information and educational materials, presentations, and other communications as needed
Understands how to consistently cite authoritative sources
Understands compliance with the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1998
Participates in peer reviews of project and organizational documentation, as required
Works with technical staff to present technical information and analyses in a logical, understandable manner targeted for the diverse audiences
Manages and maintains corporate style guide and standards
Develops and researches content of articles for press releases, newsletters, annual (and other) reports, and other internally generated publications including e-media
Works as a member of the business development team to compose and edit professionally presented, well-written, competitive, and compliant proposals
Evaluating and reviewing Program Integrity electronic materials/documents for 508 conformance under the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1998.

Required

Bachelor’s degree required (English or Journalism preferred)
A strong background in researching, writing, and concisely integrating specialized information.
At least 3-5 years of proven writing, editing, and publishing experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Writes/edits reports, information and educational materials, presentations, and other communications as needed
Understands how to consistently cite authoritative sources

Written Communication - Edits work for spelling, grammar, and overall narrative structure, style, and meaning; Varies writing style to meet needs (e.g., lay vs. professional audiences; Internet vs. print formats; marketing materials/press releases/articles vs. technical reports/ scientific studies/proposals); Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information. Ability to express ideas clearly in writing , excellent English grammar and punctuation with high attention to detail
Teamwork - Exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views; Gives and welcomes feedback; Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. Works collaboratively with staff and/or independently to produce reports and proposals that meet the highest standards of clarity and expression.
