Responsibilities

Reviewing building plans and ensuring compliance with UCC/ICC building codes and regulations

Issuing permits for construction, demolition, and occupancy

Conducting building inspections to ensure construction is done correctly and complies with UCC/ICC codes and regulations

Responding to complaints or concerns from the public regarding building safety and code compliance

Inspecting public and private properties to enforce zoning regulations and building codes

Issuing citations and warnings for violations of regulations and codes

Responding to citizen complaints about potential violations and taking appropriate action

Working with property owners and businesses to ensure compliance with regulations and codes

Maintaining records of inspections, violations, and other enforcement actions
