Responsibilities

Perform traffic engineering designs, including preparation of signing and pavement marking plans, traffic signal plans, roadway lighting designs, and maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans in compliance with the latest design standards.
Conduct traffic engineering analyses such as traffic impact studies and operational analyses using software packages including Synchro/SimTraffic and Highway Capacity Software (HCS).
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other technical staff to complete project deliverables on time and within budget.
Manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously through all phases of the project life cycle, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedules, and budgeting requirements.
Maintain effective communication with clients and other engineering firms, representing the company in professional project-related meetings and discussions.
Attend project meetings, providing updates and insights as needed to ensure project success.

Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification required.
(3-5) Years of experience in traffic design or civil engineering in a professional setting.
Proficiency with MicroStation V8/V8i software.
Familiarity with MDSHA (Maryland State Highway Administration) design manuals and standards.
Familiarity with traffic engineering software such as Synchro, SimTraffic, and HCS.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
U.S. Citizen.

Preferred

Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.
