Responsibilities
This position serves as a valuable organizational influencer and contributor to accomplishing the Training team’s mission and SAM’s company mission.
Creates, designs, plans, and presents various forms of learning experiences to foster knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to increase employees’ effectiveness at achieving business key performance indicators (KPIs).
Works closely with department leaders, the Sr. Training & Development Manager, and other stakeholders to design unique training programs to fulfill employees’ specific needs to maintain or improve job KSAs.
Maintains business literacy regarding the company’s KPIs trends and self-storage market conditions.
Conducts training and development needs assessments through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers and other stakeholders.
Evaluates program impact through assessments, surveys, feedback and KPIs impact analysis.
Creates, designs, plans, and presents various forms of new hire onboarding as well as training and development content for employees.
Delivers training programs and facilitates learning experiences using various modalities including asynchronous learning assets, live in person and live virtual training events, workshops, and online communities.
Develops and maintains a library of training and reference materials, including online database repositories and the learning management system content library.
Serves as a system administrator and technical subject matter expert for the Training learning management system. Serves as the first level of technical support for the system.
Helps in the implementation, build, and maintenance of the system, its resources and technology, including building the content library.
Maintains records of training and development activities, including attendance, results of impact and satisfaction assessments, and retraining activities.
Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training, development, course design, and learning technologies.
Travel up to 25%
Valid Driver’s license required due to travel requirement.

Required
A minimum of (3) three years of professional training experience required.
A minimum of (3) three years of professional customer service experience required.
Knowledge of the principles and applications of cognitive science for learning, for example auditory and visual processing, information storage/retrieval, memory, and cognitive load.
Knowledge of theories and models of adult learning, for example Knowles’ Adult Learning Theory, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Gagne’s Nine Levels of Learning, social and collaborative learning, and experiential learning.
Outstanding team player able to build positive working relationships, be flexible and open-minded, and contribute to team projects.
Great organizational, project and time management skills.
Team player that is energetic and motivated with effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills with experience utilizing the Microsoft Office suite.
Valid Driver’s license required due to travel requirement.
Preferred
Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred. Comparable professional experience may be substituted for this level of education.
Experience with electronic course authoring tools and learning management systems preferred.
