Responsibilities

Support development and continuous update of internal databases for grid interconnection analysis.

Prepare generator interconnection applications for submission to Transmission Provider queues.

Analyze potential sites based on power flow models and grid conditions.

Conduct production cost modeling to determine pricing and congestion trends.

Track interconnection deadlines and automate project performance analysis processes.

Review external transmission analysis studies and reports.

Analyze production cost reports for project fundamental analysis.

Collaborate with external consultants to support project development efforts.

Perform technical analysis to support projects in the operational portfolio.

Stay informed about regulatory processes and represent the company in regulatory forums.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., science, engineering etc..) with an emphasis on power systems and/or power markets

A minimum of 2 years in the electricity industry with the Bachelor’s degree

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Must be willing and able to travel (up to 20%)

Understanding of the basic electrical power engineering terminology

Proficiency in Microsoft office suite applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Basic understanding or willingness to learn new coding languages e.g., Python, R, SAS etc.

Prior experience or willingness to learn industry standard transmission analytics tools e.g., PowerWorld Simulator, PSS/E, TARA, etc.

Prior experience or willingness to learn industry standard production cost modeling tools e.g., PROMOD, PROBE, UPLAN, DAYZER etc.

Preferred

Master’s degree in a related technical discipline is a plus

Knowledge of power flow and production cost modeling is a plus

Transmission planning experience with a utility, technical consultant or an ISO is plus

Advance degree could substitute the work experience requirement
