Responsibilities

Produce high volumes of work with consistent quality and accuracy

Train and mentor new underwriters to ensure understanding of underwriting practices and procedures

Underwrite Life and Disability Income insurance applications in alignment with company policies

Review contestable claims to identify potential misrepresentation

Perform data entry and maintains records in the underwriting tracking system

Evaluate and review non-standard applications and supporting documents for compliance

Differentiate and manage requirements for multiple associations with varying criteria

Identify the need for additional documentation and requests relevant information as necessary

Determine applicant eligibility for plans based on underwriting criteria

Communicate effectively with internal teams and Third-Party Administrators regarding underwriting procedures and insurance policies
