Responsibilities
Process Surety business through data entry, supporting underwriters, applying knowledge, understanding of rating scenarios, and producing error-free work through strong attention-to-detail
Develop superior working relationships with underwriters and acts as the first point of contact with timely service inquiries
Maintain successful relationships with agencies
Provide excellent customer service to agents, underwriters and colleagues
Resolve issues and develop rapport
Display and use knowledge with filed rates, minimum premium, rater and assisting with line cards
Ability to manage internal reports: Monthly renewal, status reports, data cleanup projects, submission under review & quoted status
Assist on key special projects as requested
Aid in additional assignments as requested by leadership
Provide support to Surety UW Center team (other UAs, account management, bond forms, collections)
Provide service to internal and external customers, including agents and clients

Required
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a technical/underwriting assistant with similar duties preferred
Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
Strong written and oral communication skills (email, phone, in-person)
Computer skills including Excel, Outlook, Edge/Chrome, Nitro Pro (Adobe)
Able to multi-task and collaborate effectively with others
Demonstrates planning and organizational skills
Eager to learn, displays a positive attitude, and willingness to take on new opportunities or responsibilities from UW’s or Leads
