Responsibilities
Effectively and autonomously manage the field service engineering team responsible for the Imaging, Robotic and Nav product portfolio, while driving financial and operational goals and objectives.
Contribute to setting the strategic direction for the field service organization, creating visibility to goals, initiative, and programs.
Provide strategic and tactical leadership to the product portfolio Field Service Organization, delivering support and guidance to Field Service Engineer (FSE) Managers who are directly responsible for FSEs who provide on-site technical support during the installation and maintenance of company products.
Own the relationship with sales organization to drive and deliver quick, effective resolution of issues, while supporting other potential sales opportunities.
Partner with all global field service organizations to drive consistency in all field service activities across the globe, sharing best practices, persuading, and gaining alignment across the multiple geographies.
Identify and implement large scale process improvements to drive better efficiency, utilization, and support of the field service organization to deliver a best-in-class level of support to our customers.
Introduce new programs to the Field Services organization together with Sales and Marketing that lend competitive advantage to the business.
Ensure adequate records and systems are maintained.
Maintains communication with design management and specialists in resolving technical problems and/or bringing problems to the design department’s attention
Serve as field service representation on specific field service acquisitions, partnerships, and new product development to ensure a smooth, streamlined transition and readiness to support upon launch of the product.
Drive customer escalation process with sales and other stakeholders.
Own and implement a new MDT-wide cross training program, for your portfolio, to increase resource availability while presenting a common face of Medtronic to our customers.
Drive MDT quality and service compliance standards
Manage and lead the capacity, skill building, team collaboration, and engagement of the U.S. Field Service team for your portfolio.
Drive accountability and ownership of customer satisfaction to lowest levels of the organization.
Coach and mentor direct reports, providing executive oversight of career development and growth.
Manage and own the Manage by Objectives (MBO) program to drive performance and metric improvement across your portfolio.
Accountable for on time completion of all field corrective actions, including scheduling, good documentation practices and obtaining final approval to close each action.
Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities across operations and service.
Ensure safe and ethical performance, including FDA/Regulatory compliance Quality System matters.
Responsible for special and confidential projects as assigned.
All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System.
Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies, or governmental regulations.

Required
Requires a bachelor’s degree and 7 years (5 years with advanced degree) of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience.
Preferred
Requires broad management knowledge to lead multiple teams, while maintaining a mastery knowledge and skills within a specific technical discipline with a broad understanding of other areas in the job function.
Experience in the medical device industry, particularly with imaging, robotics, or navigation systems.
Familiarity with project management methodologies, such as Agile or Lean Six Sigma, to drive process improvements.
Proven ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Understanding of FDA regulations and compliance standards in the medical device industry.
