Responsibilities

Coordinate maternal re-testing and PrEP workstreams, data reviews and country support to ensure PLP are receiving a primary prevention package to reduce new HIV infections in mothers and vertical transmission to their HIV-exposed infants.
Develop a tool based on UNAIDS PMTCT data to inform country-level strategies.
Support technical working groups to address HIV-exposed infant services, maternal mortality and <5y/o mortality in HIV programming.
Support opportunities to integrate HIV programming into other primary healthcare areas, such as maternal child health programming.
Support the Maternal Infant Health Cluster (MIhC) with coordination, meetings and collaboration across the branch and OHA
Support Safe Births, Healthy Babies Initiative (SBHB) and coordination of other activities involving collaboration with MCHN
Support Global Alliance Initiative engagement
Support activities that focus on optimizing testing services for C/ALHIV (index testing, HIVST, sick entry points, OPD) and also case-finding and reach for “hard to reach” children (children of Key Populations, children who don’t live with parents, single/double orphans) including pediatric technical working group and CLHIV estimate working group
Support workstreams that promote increased equity and access to services that meet the needs of C/ALHIV
Support operating units with strengthening OVC and clinical partner collaboration with the above priorities to improve case identification of children and adolescents living with HIV.
Analyze, synthesize, interpret, and document program data that captures progress towards reaching and identifying C/ALHIV.
Support caregiver and lay-staff assisted HIVST in children workstreams, including updating resource documents and disseminating across OHA and to country teams
Support and coordinate the Children and Families in the Epidemic (CAFE) 1st 95 technical unit
Support manuscript, abstract and literature review development
Provide support to the South Africa program and PMTCT/Peds/OVC team through OSMs
Provide support to the Community Cluster with a specific focus on Peds & PMTCT
Submit slides demonstrating a deep dive on relevant 1st 95 and MIhC data (global USAID results and by country) each quarter including QC’ing of results, work on relevant visuals, compilation, and presentation during relevant fora (including PMB Quarterly Data Reviews)
PMTCT Stacked Bar Analysis report (due mid-way through consultancy)
Completed literature review for pediatric and adolescent case-finding
Development/refinement of relevant curricula, tools, SOPs, job aides within various internal USG/USAID and interagency cohort structures intended for use at the clinical and community level
Develop abstract(s) on relevant topic(s) for submission to a pediatric/PVT-relevant HIV conference
Monthly Activity Status Report (due on the 30th/31st of each month)
Daily sign on email and weekly sign out email to co-OSMs

Required

A Master's degree or higher in public health or related field, with a strong preference for those with clinical backgrounds (doctor or nurse), although a valid US license to practice is not required
Experience with HIV and AIDS programming at the international level.
Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects, competing priorities, and deadlines.
Strong data analysis and analytic skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Expertise in Microsoft Office (especially in Excel) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Meet, etc.)

Preferred

Knowledge of and familiarity with programming affecting younger populations, mothers, children and/or adolescents, orphans and vulnerable children, including current programming standards, ongoing HIV prevention and treatment initiatives and relevant organizations working to achieve HIV epidemic control preferred.
Experience working in cross-cultural environments
Clinical experience working in healthcare settings in low and middle income countries
