Vice President Engineering - Warehouse Design

Responsibilities
Oversee and lead the Engineering team, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals and fostering a high-performance culture.
Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the company’s overall objectives and support the needs of the Solutions and Implementations team.
Supervise the development and delivery of innovative engineering solutions across multiple industry verticals. Solution development will include data analytics, process and material flow design, warehouse layouts, storage media, automation, SOWs, and system integration.
Work closely with various internal departments such as Facilities, Automation & Innovation, Solutions, PMO, Implementation, Business Development, Operations, Finance, Real Estate, IT, and HR to ensure cohesive project execution and optimal customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with international teams to ensure consistency and leverage best practices across regions.
Oversee relationships with key vendors and partners, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness in the engineering solutions provided.
Participate in customer presentations and meetings, providing technical insights and engineering expertise to support business development efforts.
Identify, recruit, and develop top engineering talent. Foster a continuous learning environment to keep the team updated on emerging trends and technologies in the industry.
Motivate staff and provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on management, recognizing the role as that of both manager and support resource / mentor
Writes equipment specifications and obtains quotes for material handling equipment / automation and storage media. Works with procurement to issue purchase orders.
Supports the identification and functional design of new WMS and interface requirements.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Process, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related engineering field
10 years of experience in engineering management, preferably within the supply chain, logistics or 3PL industry
Ability to travel up to 50%
Extensive knowledge of logistics and supply chain management, warehouse operations and automation technologies
Proven track record of leading and managing engineering teams, with a strong emphasis on strategic planning and project execution
PC literate with proficiency in Microsoft office
Preferred
Experience in an international environment and collaborating with global teams
Deep understanding of engineering principles related to logistics and supply chain management, including data analytics, process design and automation
Ability to think creatively and innovatively to develop cutting-edge engineering solutions that drive efficiency and customer satisfaction
Strong experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts to ensure optimal service delivery and cost management
Strong project management skills
Experience working for a 3PL
