Responsibilities
Drive financial strategy: Own our financial plan—optimize it, rebuild it when needed, and lead us through our next Series B raise. You’ll bring the numbers to life in board decks and tell compelling stories that support our future growth.
Join the executive team: Be a vital part of our leadership team, acting not just as a CFO but a strategic operator who’s always thinking about the bigger picture.
Mentor & coach: Turn your team into finance superstars, helping them develop into the best versions of themselves while contributing to our company’s success.
Budgeting: Turn budget meetings into exciting, educational moments. You’ll teach our team how to think like you do—instilling financial literacy and decision-making across the company, especially with senior leaders.
Optimize operations: Balance accuracy and speed by creating scalable processes. From managing cash flow to implementing new billing systems, you’ll ensure we’re set up for success as we grow.
Lead FP&A: Drive a comprehensive financial process that’s data-driven and inclusive of all team inputs—quantitative and qualitative.
Build scalable systems: Create scalable financial processes for audits, end-of-month closes, ROI investment requests, and more.
Develop staffing plans: Partner with HR and the executive team to develop headcount release models and staffing plans that fit our growth goals.
Manage cash flow: Ensure efficient cash flow management, keeping us financially healthy and sustainable as we expand.
Oversee financial operations: Manage revenue recognition, procurement, scenario planning, AR/AP, and mitigate risks as needed.
Own client-facing financials: Lead financial conversations with university partners—explaining P&L ownership and resolving issues with clarity and confidence.

Required

Scale experience: You’ve helped take a company from $20M to $100M+, and you’ve navigated fundraising rounds (bonus points for being part of an exit).

West Coast oriented: Ideally, you're on PST or comfortable working those hours, or at a minimum, being available as needed should something arise.
