Vice President of Business Development

Responsibilities
Work with executive leadership to develop and execute business strategies and plan.
Work with the business development and proposal management team identify capture opportunities with new and existing clients.
Lead strategic initiatives to grow the company’s business and capabilities.
Coordinate meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices as required.
Interface with Sigma’s existing customer base in addition to new potential customers to build positive relationships and opportunities for the company.
Participate in company strategic planning sessions and support tactical operational activities as they arise.
Define and maintain a pipeline of opportunities for pursuit.
Manage and oversee proposal management functions to ensure proposals are completed successfully in response to customer requests.
Perform capture activities with new and existing clients to successfully define capture strategy, win themes, customer hot buttons, and discriminator/differentiators.
Gathering market intelligence and competitive data on potential targeted pursuits and develop marketing strategies.
Developing and implementing effective win strategies and capture plans to profitably grow new business and retain existing business.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with key Sigma customers.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with key Sigma business partners.
Building capture teams and assigns capture responsibilities across the company in coordination with functional area leads (Contracts, Pricing, Finance, HR, etc.).
Preparing detailed competitor analyses.
Manage and oversee proposal management staff.
Manage and execute proposal management processes to ensure successful proposal development.
Produce targeted value propositions and other sales-related documents and collateral.
Represent the company at industry conferences symposia, customer exchanges, and workshops to build relationships and influence/capture potential opportunities to grow the business.
Maintain business development and proposal files in an organized fashion on the Company repository system (SharePoint and/or CORE).
Support the evaluation of Sigma business opportunities through the business development lifecycle.
Maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and peers within the company.

Required
U.S. Citizenship required.
A minimum of 15 years of business development experience with U.S. federal government customers, to include DOE and NNSA is required.
A minimum of 12 years managing or supervising teams and projects with proven experience building and managing diverse teams.
A proven record of winning US federal government contracts, in excess of $100M.
Demonstrated record of success in leading and managing new business captures within the federal government.
Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communications and ability to effectively perform in both individual and group settings.
Full understanding of government procurement and contracting processes, current acquisition trends, federal agency acquisition strategies and processes, and the FAR.
Demonstrated experience and a successful track record of high-quality proposals.
Ability to manage diverse and geographically dispersed teams.
Ability to manage several concurrent efforts simultaneously.
Ability to perform under tight deadlines and conform to quick turn-around schedules.
Impeccable attention to detail.
Fluency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook in addition to collaboration and document management tools such as SharePoint.
Familiarity with capture tools (GovWin, USASpending, Deltek Tools, CRM, etc.)
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in business-related or Engineering is preferred but not required.
