Responsibilities

Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the Development team.

Oversee the identification, evaluation, and development of utility-scale renewable energy and storage projects.

Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve company objectives and expand the project pipeline.

Lead greenfield development of utility-scale solar and storage projects in CAISO, WECC, PJM, MISO, SPP, or ERCOT markets.

Optimize project sitting, manage the interconnection process, and navigate permitting, real estate, and regulatory requirements.

Ensure projects are advanced to the construction and operation phases, meeting financial and operational targets.

Collaborate with the finance department to conduct financial feasibility analyses, evaluations, and project financing.

Manage project budgets, objectives, schedules, and deliverables to ensure financial viability and compliance with company goals.

Translate contracts and financing agreements into concise financial and economic analyses.

Engage with community, local, and state institutions to gain project support and manage public relations.

Negotiate tax abatements, land use agreements, mitigation settlements, and other project-related agreements.

Foster relationships with contractors, vendors, and consultants to maintain project timelines and budgets.

Build and lead a high-performing Development team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities for team members.

Ensure effective communication and coordination across cross-functional teams to minimize project risks and maximize efficiency.
