Responsibilities

Planning visual projects from story development, research, and proposal to production, and exploring new trends and approaches to video and animation storytelling.
Editing video using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly in Premiere and After Effects.
Scripting, editing, and packaging video content according to the BenarNews house style.
Designing and producing motion graphics, 2D and 3D animated videos from scratch, including pitching original concepts, developing storyboards, and final cut.
Performing other duties as assigned.

Required

Bachelor's degree in journalism, film, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a newsroom
Strong experience working with Adobe Creative Suite to build animations and motion graphics from scratch
Demonstrated proficiency in video editing and ability to edit first rough cuts drawing upon all available visual and audio means, including infographic design, data presentation, music, and sound effects
Effective copywriting skills, experience with visual storytelling, and able to select visuals that most effectively tells news stories
Production skills – filming with DSLRs, setting up audio and lighting
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
Fluent in English

Preferred

Good to have: fluent in Bengali, Thai, Bahasa Malaysia or Bahasa Indonesia
Good to have: Proficiency in other Adobe tools like Illustrator or After Effect
