Responsibilities

Actively participate in the development and implementation of strategic plans for OCCU.
Make significant strategic and tactical contributions to the formulation, development, implementation and administration of OCCU strategies, business goals and objectives.
Develop, propose, gain acceptance for and implement operations programs and strategies.
Participate in the establishment of rolling departmental forecasts and monitor performance throughout the year.
Track and report regularly upon specific strategies and initiatives.
Work within all OCCU guidelines, policies and procedures, including approval processes.
Lead through OCCU’s vision and values by communicating their importance, modeling aligned behavior, motivating action in others and rewarding and recognizing achievement.
Lead through organizational change by identifying and driving organizational changes needed to adapt strategically to changing market demands, technology, internal initiatives, catalyzing new approaches to improve results by transforming organizational culture, systems or services.
Execute strategic decision making by obtaining and monitoring industry information, identifying key issues, evaluating organizational gaps and developing strategic relationships needed to achieve long range goals for the organization.
Demonstrate a keen understanding of business operations and organizational levers such as systems, processes, departments and functions that drive profitable growth. Draw from personal experience to quickly evaluate business plans and processes to identify data or recommendations needed for further development.
Generate and consider options for action to achieve goals, develop decision criteria, consider factors such as cost, benefits, risk, timing and buy-in. Select appropriate strategy for success.
Translate strategic priorities into operational reality. Determine action steps, milestones, success metrics required to implement business initiatives.
Ensure strategies are carried out by monitoring results over time and adjusting as needed.
Identify and develop human resources capabilities to drive specific strategies needed to support business current and future needs.
Clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas to individuals and teams, communicating in a focused and compelling way that effectively cascades relevant information to impacted teams ensuring that they understand organizational goals and objectives.
Coach and develop teams by providing feedback, instruction, and development guidance to help teams and leaders excel in their current and future job responsibilities. Plan and support the development of individual skills and abilities as well as department/organizational competencies needed for success.
Demonstrate an awareness of own strengths and development needs as well as the impact of own behavior on others; modifying behavior based on self-awareness to improve impact.
Initiate and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts inside and outside the organization to drive innovation and achieve business goals and objectives.
Use appropriate interpersonal styles to establish effective relationships; interacting with others in a way that promotes openness and trust and builds team cohesion across the organization.
Actively pursue development experience to improve interpersonal and business impact by pursuing learning activities, taking risks with learning and applying learning to new challenges and opportunities.
Maintain effectiveness when experiencing major changes, pressure, or opposition. Effectively adjust to new work structures or process requirements while maintaining stable performance under pressure and maintaining effective working relationships.
Establish OCCU’s capital markets strategy to accommodate future growth and profitability through market and business line expansion.
Provide expertise in all areas of secondary markets, loan product development and interest risk hedging derivatives.
Review and perform daily rate locks for real estate loan programs.
Develop and maintain loan pricing systems to ensure current loan pricing is accurate.
Lead cross functional teams to ensure loan production and servicing functions are performing to sustain eligibility for loan sales.
Develop pricing for loan products and strategies to sell loans.
Identify and cultivate investor relationships to purchase whole loans and loan pools from OCCU.
Create a consistent and reliable revenue stream from asset sales and hedging activities.
With respect to all secondary market activity, recommend loan pools for sale or for purchase, inclusive of pricing always considering OCCU’s income statement and balance sheet, along with the relationship with OCCU’s participation partners, and/or brokers.
Manage OCCU’s participation partnerships and broker relationships.
Provide reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, keeping key stakeholders informed on capital market activity.
Partner with ALM, legal, risk, lending and credit administration to ensure cross-collaboration to drive capital market strategies successfully.
Ensure the Capital Markets area is optimally utilized to serve business lines throughout the organization.
Maintain a thorough understanding of federal and state laws and regulations related to OCCU’s investments and secondary market activities.
Develop and maintain productive relationships enterprise wide through a combination of one-on-one interaction and collaborative team-oriented activities.
Be prepared to manage at least five, and likely more, loan sales, participations or acquisitions. Execute these transactions with the same levels of current profitability or better.
Build deep relationships with OCCU participation partners and brokers thus maintaining OCCU’s reputation as best-in-class as a secondary market participant.
Comply with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations. This includes the SAFE Act. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment related actions.
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding all sensitive, confidential and proprietary OCCU information.

Required

A minimum seven (7) years of experience in financial analysis and transaction/financing execution (i.e. M&A, Private Equity, Investment Banking, Commercial Banking or Corporate Development).
Demonstrated track record of growing capital or managing large amounts of investment capital.
Extensive skill in planning and project management, and in maintaining composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines.
Considerable skill in effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills and skills in presenting findings and recommendations.
Ability to establish and maintain collegial and respectful working relationships with customers, co-workers, staff and external contacts.
Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills. Organizational and positional influence across teams.
Ability to develop and implement innovative solutions, strategies and initiatives; and deliver Senior level/Board level presentations.
Possess collaborative decision-making abilities to forge successful partnerships across organizational boundaries, at both senior and operational levels.
Strong process and analytical skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
Well-organized and self-directed individual with high ethical standards.
