Responsibilities
Analyzing and researching municipal issuers and borrowers in a wide range of sectors (general governmental, K-12, pension, economic development, higher education, etc.)
Gather and analyze all relevant financial data for a client or prospect, including analyzing historical performance, accurately calculating credit metrics, identifying risks and mitigants, assessing creditworthiness, etc.
Prepare thorough credit underwriting documents identifying credit risks and mitigants, demographic concerns, financial trends, and other pertinent credit issues.
Participating in the underwriting of various credit structures
Engaging in comprehensive client and credit research
Prepare detailed underwriting reports and recommendations for approval by credit officers.
Work on various one-time projects
Interaction with deal team members and clients
Take part in the approval process for lending commitments, amendments, waivers, and consents, including answering questions from Credit Executives
Ensure compliance with all Know Your Customer (“KYC”) regulations.
Properly maintain documentation and necessary business records
Monitor ongoing financial performance of municipalities in the portfolio and tracking covenant compliance.

Required
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
7+ years of experience within Portfolio Management, Credit Risk, or Relationship Management
3+ years of experience working within municipal finance
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize tasks with a high sense of urgency to meet the demands of a deadline-driven environment.
Disciplined work ethic
Superior attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively manage multiple simultaneous project deadlines.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Strong knowledge of and ability to apply financial analysis and accounting concepts.
Strong knowledge of loan and lease documentation
Ability to analyze a wide variety of lessee and industry information.
Ability to make and support recommendations.
Work effectively as an individual and as part of a team
Initiative-taking and energetic
Demonstrate a strong interest in finance and the public sector.
