Responsibilities
Monitors the performance of equipment, gauges, and charts in wastewater treatment facilities.
Locates, maintains, and repairs sewer lines, equipment, and facilities.
Maintains, operates, repairs, and replaces equipment as necessary.
Records statistical data, analyzes results, and maintains accurate records.
Collects samples and identifies concentrations of chemical, physical, or biological characteristics of water.
Monitors wastewater quality, turbidity, and chemical levels.
Performs quality control tests on lab equipment and analyses.
Operates within required standards and performs grounds maintenance.
Trains and acts as lead worker over other employees.

Required
Graduation from high school or equivalent and two (2) year related wastewater experience is required.
Certification 1 Waste Water Collection, Water System Operator Certification 1
Operation of generators, pumps, gauges, common hand and power tools used in wastewater maintenance operations
Reading and understanding constructions plans
Working safely
Communicating effectively verbally and in writing
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public
Understanding and independently carrying out written and oral instructions
Equipment, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in wastewater treatment collection, maintenance and operation activities
Applicable local construction and plumbing codes
Current and valid Washington state driver’s license
Water System Operator Certification 1
Valid Wastewater Collection Specialist I certification issued by the Washington Wastewater Collection Personnel Association is required at the time of appointment or at a time set by the Tribe
