Responsibilities
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Workday Financials, specifically focused on the design and implementation of the Chart of Accounts (COA) and General Ledger (GL)
Lead discovery sessions to assess current financial configurations and identify gaps or improvements needed for the new company setup.
Provide expert recommendations for structuring the COA and GL to ensure alignment with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Design and document the Chart of Accounts and General Ledger framework, including account hierarchies, classifications, and reporting requirements.
Partner with Workday implementation teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of financial systems and processes across entities.
Assess and propose changes to the existing shared Workday tenant, ensuring minimal disruption to current operations while enabling the new company’s financial independence.
Develop and validate test cases for financial configurations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
Provide guidance on cross-company financial transactions, reconciliation processes, and audit trail requirements.
Assist with the preparation of documentation, training, and knowledge transfer for finance teams.

Required
Minimum 5 years of experience with Workday Financials, including Chart of Accounts and General Ledger design.
Strong understanding of financial processes, including accounting principles, reporting structures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
Preferred
Advanced degree or certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, Workday Financials certification) preferred.
Experience with Workday’s Accounting Center, Grants Management, and Expense Management.
Familiarity with integration of Workday Financials with other systems such as EHR platforms or legacy financial systems.
Knowledge of academic medical center operations or similar healthcare finance environments.
