Responsibilities

Contributes in the development of programs or systems of small to moderate size and complexity.
Provides informational input into decisions concerning the development and delivery of applications, programs, and systems.
Clarifies requirements to meet the expectations of stakeholders and intended end users needs, scheduled timeline, and budgetary targets.
Contributes to the collaborative effort of the analysis and design of new systems and applications.
Performs various coding, debugging and unit testing tasks in support of applications, programs, and systems.
Contributes to the project definition, and the gathering of the functional requirements.
Troubleshoots problems whether due to data or software and rapidly resolves any problems that do occur.
Provides ongoing maintenance and support for applications and systems.
Prepares documentation and user manuals.
Provides support for training of end users.
Applies and keeps current with existing and emerging technologies and methodologies.
Provides ongoing input to the establishment of programming standards, procedures, and methodologies.
May perform other duties as assigned.

Required

Bachelor's Degree.
One year programming experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to review customer requirements and translate into data capture and storage strategies.
Capable of developing creative solutions to complex problems.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to multi-task, maintain confidentiality and manage a broad variety of duties and shifting priorities.
Proficient at working in team environments as well as self-directed independent projects.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while balancing priorities and deadlines.
Demonstrates leadership skills needed to successfully complete projects.
Demonstrates regulatory compliance understanding.
Ability to understand and communicate implications of federal regulations and university policies related to clinical research and data compliance.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Demonstrates a high degree of customer service.
Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically in written and verbal forms with internal and external contacts, faculty, researchers and staff at all levels.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree and/or a combination of 3 years in related IT or research role.
Knowledge of clinical trial design, HIPAA, IRB.
Experience with HTML and other programming, analysis, reporting tools.
Developing clinical research technologies and/or EDC study builds.
Experience with EDC, CTMS, eTMF, or similar clinical research systems.
Experience in technical support or customer service.
