The Business Development Manager for Fire Protection will lead strategic growth efforts in the US and Canada, focusing on sales, marketing, and technical strategies for the Passive Fire Protection segment.

Responsibilities

Achieve sales volumes and profitability goals by providing the necessary leadership for the commercial teams, and by coordinating the sales effort for this technology
Recognized as the subject matter expert on market trends, main industry players, and the distinct needs in the projects where PFP products are used
Communicate effectively at all levels of customer organizations, including top executives
Identify new business opportunities, and ensure continuing sales growth, by keeping informed about new regulations, standards and guidance and market segment forces
Maintain technical knowledge of new products, techniques, & trends
Maintain a professional image to the industry to enhance PPG's market position. Develop continued acceptance and recognition of PPG products as "World Class"
Manage to produce new business and to ensure repeat business by promoting accounts, supplying good service, and by settling complaints promptly and equitably
Continue growth in managerial sales effectiveness by keeping up to date on technological changes and involvement in other on-the-job and off-the-job activities
Develop market-based value selling propositions and communicate to commercial teams

Fire Protection EngineeringChemical Industry ExperienceSales Strategy DevelopmentSafety Performance StandardsMarket AnalysisFire Test MethodsMaster’s Degree

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or a related degree
At least 10 years' experience in strategy, marketing, engineering, or sales within the chemical industry
Demonstrate creative and critical thinking skills
Knowledge of commercial industry's safety performance standards and regulations related to fire protection

Preferred

Knowledge of the fire protection engineering and fire test methods is a benefit
