Administrative Specialist Senior
The Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking an Administrative Specialist Senior for the Education and Labor Cabinet's Department of Workers' Claims. Responsibilities
Plan, organize, review, approve and process Rejection/Rescission of Workers’ Compensation Act notices. Perform professional administrative functions and prepare monthly processed notices to section supervisor. Record approved notices in agency Legal Tracking System. Maintain report of notices returned requiring further information. Submit weekly payments of audited open records request to staff
Process certification of coverage requests for Administrative Law Judge (ALJ), Claims and Attorneys’. Perform complex research using resources available to provide precise and accurate findings for certification of coverage. Clean-up System for Information Management and Business Administration (SIMBA) database to eliminate incorrect data and multiple files for same insured
Process employee leasing registrations per KRS 336
Prepare and process Commissioner approved citations by logging, tracking, preparing and analyzing associated documents for delivery by agency guidelines and due dates. Prepare, review, and code Reconsiderations of Citations in agency database and Tracking System. Prepare citation files and delivery of audited penalty payments to Kentucky Workers’ Compensation Funding Commission (KYWCFC)
Develop and implement activities relative to Workers’ Comp coverage, working with Management in implementing any changes. Process all open records and special project requests. Audit open records payments to ensure accuracy and balanced entries
Answer phone inquiries from the public and employers pertaining to policies regarding workers compensation. Assist staff by interpreting and/or recommending policies in relation to the compilation of various complex programs utilizing Microsoft Office, SIMBA, and/or Litigation Management System (LMS). Assist supervisor in training of employees and assisting others with tasks
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree
Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience
Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis
Preferred
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
Ability to work cooperatively with a team
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
History of working with databases and reports
